Activities

Circle Time/Small Group Activities: Greetings and good-byes, songs, story telling and dancing offer opportunities for self- expression in a group setting. Cooperative games and dramatic play build social skills, cooperation, and creativity.

Free Choice Time: Creative arts, painting, construction, cooking, imaginary play, manipulative activities, a sand/water table, craft and play dough are available. Children play independently, in small groups or one-on-one with a teacher or parent. Clean up time encourages children to practice responsibility and cooperation.

Snack Time: Age appropriate manners can be practiced while children share a snack and conversation.

Outdoor Play: Children explore their large motor skills in a wonderful outdoor play area that includes a variety of playground equipment, playhouses, sandbox, big toys, bikes, garden boxes and woodlands. Activities include outdoor games, dramatic play and exploration.

Special Events: Opportunities for sharing experiences might include a buddy program with McLane Elementary school students, field trips to a farm, fire station, bakery or pizza parlor, nature walks, roller-skating and picnics, or visits from a doctor, firefighter or other guests with special skills.
